The Issue - Irresponsible Fishing
Science is proving that irresponsible factory fishing is destroying our marine environment. Fish stocks are being severely depleted and in many regions fish species are over fished and within our life time face extinction. Marine biodiversity is threatened which will in turn affect our entire marine eco system.
Why Is this Happening? Large factory fishing vessels and illegal fishing with little or no government enforcement of total catches, regions fished and species caught. FAD's and dragnets are used for species such as Tuna which are highly destructive to all species and catch juvenile fish and non targeted fish species. Dragnets can be up to 100km long and trap many species of fish which are not the target species and are discarded back in to the ocean dead. Factory fishing is environmental wastage on an epic scale.
How can we Stop this? It doesn't have to be this way and now is the time that we can change these practices. See End of the Line, get active, make informed choices, vote with your dollar and let your local supermarket know that you won't support their unsustainable fish products.
When to Act? Quite frankly - NOW
Fish 4 Ever is the first range of tinned fish available in Australia to promote explicit sustainability criteria, linking sustainable practices on land (by using organic and land ingredients) with sustainable practices at sea. It goes much further than just being dolphin-friendly with the whole marine environment and eco-system being considered.
Learn more about this award-winning range that not only tastes sensational but is great for your health, does not fish endangered fish species and limits its impact on both land and sea environments. Fish 4 Ever endeavours to source fish through local fishing communities that use traditional fishing practices.
