Fish 4 Ever is the first range of tinned fish available in Australia to promote explicit sustainability criteria. It links sustainable practices on land (by using organic and land ingredients) with sustainable practices at sea. It goes much further than just being dolphin-friendly with the whole marine environment and eco-system being considered.

Science is proving that irresponsible factory fishing is destroying our marine environment. Fish stocks are being severely depleted and in many regions fish species are being over fished and within our life time face extinction. Marine biodiversity is also being threatened which will in turn affect our entire marine eco system. However, it doesn't have to be this way.

The Fish 4 Ever range follows explicit sustainability guidelines. They go much further than dolphin-friendly and address a far wider range of issues. Below are just some of Fish 4 Ever's sustainability credentials:

• Fish 4 Ever will not sell fish that are listed as critically endangered. They consult closely with industry bodies and experts  to ensure the fishing areas they are active in are healthy
  
  
• Fishing is seasonal - no fishing occurs in the breeding season and there is no fishing of under-sized and juvenile fish
  
  
• Fishing is socially responsible. Fish 4 Ever supports local and traditional fishing communities who rely on fishing for their livelihood. Equity and respect of workers is extremely important to Fish 4 Ever
  
  
• No dragnets are used. These can be up to 100 km long and will kill dolphins, whales, sharks, turtles and sea birds
  
  
• There is no damage to the ocean floor, for example, no deep sea trawling or bottom trawling and no damage to the marine environment
  
  
• There is near zero by-catch. Fish 4 Ever Skipjack Tuna is caught using a pole and line method and thanks to responsible fishing methods and equipment sea mammals and albatross are not caught
  
  
• No major industrial boats or factory boats are used. All of our fish are caught with smaller sized community based fishing boats. Fish 4 Ever do not use long-lines, purse-seiners setting on FADs or driftnets.  They do not use bottom trawling or dredging
